The purpose of these General Terms and Conditions of Use (hereinafter “GTCU”) is to define:
- The terms and conditions for accessing the Forum Renault EASY CONNECT platform (hereinafter the “Forum”) used to ask advice or put technical questions relating to Renault products / services to members of the Community (hereinafter the “Community”) and to answer the Community’s queries.
- the way Community contributes to the Forum, via their participation in the questions / answers (hereinafter the “Questions”).
Article 1 – Conditions and Terms of access and contribution to the Forum
The Platform is accessible via the FORUM RENAULT EAST CONNECT website (hereinafter the “Website”), operated by RENAULT DIGITAL (hereinafter “RENAULT DIGITAL”), a subsidiary of RENAULT SAS (hereinafter “RENAULT”).
The Forum is accessible to any individual in search of information relating to Renault products / services or anyone who has questions relating to these products / services. The Forum offers its members the option of consulting all the solutions provided by the Community, asking for advice or putting technical questions or questions relating to Renault products / services to the Community and answering the Community’s queries. The Community may not respond to questions which require access to the customer’s contractual data.
Access and use of the Forum are subject to compliance with these GTCU and all of the applicable laws and regulations. Access and use of the Forum require the Member to accept these GTCU unreservedly and, if applicable, to register with the site if the User wishes to post an opinion, comment or question or respond to a question.
Access to the Forum is dependent on creating a personal profile (hereinafter the “Profile”), requiring the future Member to provide information enabling him to be identified, which will be collected and processed under the conditions stipulated in article 6 below.
Once registered, the Member connects to the Forum by entering his email address and password that he will have provided in his Profile, and that he can update at any time.
Article 2 – Eligibility and conditions of participation in the Forum
2.1 Registering on the Forum
The Forum is open to all physical entities regardless of whether they are Renault customers. Only registered members of the Forum may create subjects of conversation and respond to the latter. A PC, MAC, a mobile telephone or tablet with an Internet connection is required in order to use the Forum.
These terms and conditions must be accepted and the User must register on the Forum before it is used for the first time. The user must first create an account by providing his email address and a password before registering on the Forum by creating an alias which will be visible to the other Members of the Forum. The User will then have the option of modifying and customizing his profile.
The User will be notified that he is solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of his account and password. Access to the Forum is free (with the exception of the cost of the Internet connection).
2.2 Conditions of participation in the Discussion Forum
Once connected, the Member is automatically redirected to the discussion Forum where he can share his experience with the Community and ask questions.
He will be identified on the forum by an avatar and a pseudonym of his choice or an identifier (first name followed by the initial of his last name).
It is understood that in the event of publication of content on the forum by the Member, under his own name and from his computer terminal, he alone is responsible for it.
The Member agrees that the content that he provides or any other element that he provides, registers, makes available to the Platform or makes accessible via the Platform:
- complies with these GTCU,
- complies with the intellectual property rights pertaining to the Forum and to each of the elements that comprise it, and consequently agrees not to portray, reproduce or use, in any form and through any means, any message circulated on the Forum, for which he does not hold the rights;
- does not contain any virus or spyware likely to damage the Website, slow down its operation or more generally damage its operation,
- is not false, inaccurate or deceptive,
- relates to the activities of Renault, and its multimedia products and services,
- is not wrongly acquired or contrary to the rights of third parties,
- does not infringe applicable codes and laws,
- does not contain harassment elements, or elements that are harmful, defamatory, violent, vulgar, obscene, hateful or that may be criticised from a racial or ethical point of view, or that are contrary to public decency, or that may infringe on respect for individuals and their dignity, or on the protection of minors,
- is not of a nature to change the spirit of the Website, notably for a political purpose, propaganda or proselytism
- does not damage the internal and external brand image and more generally the interests of Groupe RENAULT
- is not abusive, defamatory, racist, xenophobic, revisionist or offends the honour or reputation of others,
- is not of a pornographic or paedophilic nature,
- does not incite discrimination or hatred against a person or group of persons on the basis of their origin or belonging to or not belonging to a particular ethnic group, nation, race or religion,
- does not incite to an offence, crime and acts of terrorism or advocacy of crimes, acts of terrorism, war crimes or crimes against humanity,
- does not contain any proposals for the sale of goods or services, advertisements or promotions, in any way whatsoever, of any website or any company
In the event of a breach of one of the aforementioned restrictions, RENAULT DIGITAL and/or RENAULT reserves the right, on a discretionary basis and without prior notification, to:
- delete the profile of the Member of the Forum;
- suspend the participation of the Member in the Forum.
Article 3 – Intellectual Property
The Website is protected by intellectual and/or industrial property rights.
The photographs, texts, slogans, designs, images and animated sequences, both with and without sound, as well as all works included on the Website, are the property of Renault Digital or Renault or third parties who have authorised Renault Digital to use them.
Reproductions on paper or digital format of the aforementioned Website and of the works and vehicle models featured therein are permitted provided they are strictly reserved for personal use, excluding any use for advertising and/or commercial and/or information purposes, and that they comply with the provisions of article L122-5 of the French Intellectual Property Code.
With the exception of the above provisions, any reproduction, representation, use or modification, regardless of the process and medium, of all or part of the Website, and of all or part of the various works and vehicle models on the site, without having obtained prior authorisation from RENAULT DIGITAL and/or RENAULT, is strictly prohibited and represents an infringement of copyright punishable by three years in prison and a fine of €300,000.
The names Forum Renault EASY CONNECT, RENAULT DIGITAL and RENAULT, the name of the vehicles proposed by RENAULT, the slogans and logos are, unless specifically indicated, trademarks filed by RENAULT and/or RENAULT DIGITAL or third parties having authorised RENAULT and/or RENAULT DIGITAL to use them.
The reproduction, imitation, use or affixing of these trademarks without obtaining prior authorisation from RENAULT and/or RENAULT DIGITAL or their respective certified operators represents an infringement of copyright punishable by four years in prison and a fine of €400,000.
Subject to the provisions of these GTCU, the Member shall not copy, modify or reproduce in any form all or part of the information and components appearing on the Forum, or intervene on the Forum, or act in a way that infringes the intellectual property rights of RENAULT and/or RENAULT DIGITAL and of third parties having authorised RENAULT and/or RENAULT DIGITAL to use them. The use of an intellectual property right belonging to RENAULT and/or RENAULT DIGITAL, or a third party having authorised its use by RENAULT and/or RENAULT DIGITAL, not expressly authorised by the GTCU is strictly prohibited.
Article 4 – Liability
The information accessible via the Website is provided “as is”. Errors or omissions may occur. RENAULT DIGITAL gives no guarantee, express or implied, and shall not be held liable in any way for the use of this information or the Forum.
The Member acknowledges that he is solely responsible for the use of the Forum, and acknowledges that neither RENAULT DIGITAL nor RENAULT nor any of the subsidiaries of Groupe RENAULT, may be held liable for any direct or consequential damage, including any material or intangible loss, loss of data or program, financial loss, resulting from access to or use of the Forum or any website or application linked to the Website, or due notably to the interruption, suspension, modification or discontinuation of the Forum or one of its elements. The Member expressly acknowledges that the content of the Forum is presented with no guarantee of any kind whatsoever.
RENAULT DIGITAL may, in light of the circumstances, take whatever action it deems necessary or appropriate regarding, on the one hand the User’s access to and/or use of the Forum and, on the other hand, the elements provided by the Member. RENAULT DIGITAL may notably interrupt, limit, suspend, prohibit, in whole or in part, access to the Forum, without prior notice or compensation, if the Member behaves in a manner or engages in activities prohibited by any applicable laws and regulations in force or the GTCU or the Conditions of Participation in the Survey. The provisions of this article shall remain applicable after the termination or expiry of these GTCU.
Article 5 – Personal data
To register on, access and use the Platform requires RENAULT DIGITAL to collect personal data, that makes it possible, within the scope of the applicable regulations, to directly or indirectly identify an individual. The personal data are processed by RENAULT DIGITAL, in its capacity as data controller.

Each Member has, among other things, a right of access, modification and rectification, as well as a right to oppose, subject to providing a legitimate reason, that the data concerning him are the subject of processing. He can exercise his rights by contacting …… .
RENAULT DIGITAL employs the appropriate physical, technical and organisational measures to ensure the security and confidentiality of personal data, in particular in terms of protecting such data against loss, accidental destruction, corruption and unauthorised access.
Article 6 – Governing Law
The GTCU, content and all the rights and obligations of the parties generated by use of the Forum or relating to it are subject to French legislation and are interpreted and applied in accordance therewith.
Any dispute on the subject of the GTCU and access to and use of the Forum must first be the subject of an attempt at amicable settlement between the parties before being referred exclusively to the courts within the jurisdiction of the PARIS Court of Appeal, to which the parties recognise the exclusive power to hand down decisions, notwithstanding multiple defendants or claims for compensation from third parties.
Article 7 – Update of the GTCU
RENAULT DIGITAL reserves the right to modify and update without notice and at any time access to the Website and/or the GTCU and/or the Conditions of Participation in a Survey.
RENAULT DIGITAL will endeavour to notify the Members, particularly through the Forum.
Where applicable, the modifications and updates will be imposed on the Members from their publication on the Forum, dependent on the Members viewing the GTCU in force during each connection.
Article 8: Miscellaneous Provisions
8.1 Absence of waiver
The fact that one of the parties does not rely on a clause of these GTCU cannot be interpreted as a temporary or permanent waiver of the benefit of the clause in question which will remain in force.
8.2. Nullity of a clause
If one or more stipulations of these GTCU is declared invalid, void or unwritten in application of the regulations in force, due to a change or following a final decision of a competent court, the other stipulations will retain their full force and effect, with the parties agreeing as soon as possible to put in place a valid replacement provision and of a scope equivalent as close as possible to the spirit of these GTCU.
8.3 Force majeure
The following are treated expressly as cases of force majeure, in addition to those usually upheld in case-law and precedent by the French courts: adverse weather, government and legal restrictions and modifications, computer failures and disruption in telecommunications, the failure of the servers of RENAULT DIGITAL and/or RENAULT sas and any other case outside RENAULT’s express volition and control.
